Not every website builder or content system accepts SVG uploads, but many of them take WebP. FormatJet renders your SVG at the width you choose and saves it as a WebP, transparency included, with lossy or lossless compression. It all runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

About the formats

SVGSVG vector image

SVG is a vector format made of shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. It’s used for logos, icons and illustrations on the web.

WebPWebP image

WebP is an image format made for the web. Files are smaller than JPG and PNG and can have transparency or animation, but some older apps can’t open it.

Converted with Browser SVG renderer, jSquash, Image engine.

Questions

Why turn an SVG into WebP when browsers can show SVG?

Some site builders, shop platforms and image fields refuse SVG uploads but accept WebP. Converting also fixes the text in place, so it no longer depends on which fonts a visitor has installed.

Should I use lossy or lossless WebP for an SVG?

Logos, icons and diagrams with flat colours suit “Lossless (larger files, no quality loss)” in Options, which keeps every pixel. Illustrations with gradients usually look fine at the default quality of 80.

Is the transparency kept?

Yes. WebP stores transparent pixels, including the smooth edges around shapes, so the image blends into whatever background your site uses.

What resolution is the WebP?

“Original size” uses the drawing’s width and height, or its viewBox; a drawing with neither gets a square default size. For high-density screens, pick a larger width in Options and the drawing is rendered at that size.
