Source offer for LGPL components

HEIC photos are decoded with libheif-js 1.23.5, which contains libheif and libde265. All three are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 (LGPL-3.0, which builds on the GPL-3.0). We use them unmodified.

The complete source for the version we ship is at libheif-js v1.23.5. Its build script names the exact libheif and libde265 releases, whose source is at github.com/strukturag/libheif and github.com/strukturag/libde265.

The library loads as separate files (a JavaScript file and a WebAssembly file), so you can replace it with your own build. For at least three years after we last ship this version, we’ll send you its complete source on request: write to hello@formatjet.com.

MP3 files are encoded with LAME 3.100, which @mediabunny/mp3-encoder 1.62.0 compiles to WebAssembly. LAME is licensed under the GNU Library General Public License, version 2 or later (LGPL-2.0); the package’s own code is under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. We use both unmodified. MP3 encoding by LAME.

LAME 3.100’s complete source is at sourceforge.net/projects/lame. The package’s source, with the small bridge between JavaScript and LAME and the exact commands that build it, is in Mediabunny’s repository at v1.62.0. The encoder loads as its own file, only when you convert to MP3, so you can replace it with your own build.
