PNG to SVG
Trace a PNG logo or icon into a vector SVG that scales. Nothing is uploaded.

Converted on your device. Files are never uploaded.
Up to 20 files at a time.
A PNG is made of pixels, so it blurs when you enlarge it. Tracing it into an SVG turns the picture into shapes that stay sharp at any size, from a website header to a poster. FormatJet traces your logo, icon or drawing in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
About the formats
PNGPNG image
PNG is a lossless image format with transparency. It’s ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges, but photos come out larger than JPG.
SVGSVG vector image
SVG is a vector format made of shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. It’s used for logos, icons and illustrations on the web.
Converted with jSquash, vtracer, Image engine.
Questions
Is this a real vector SVG or just a PNG inside an SVG?
A real vector. FormatJet traces the PNG’s pixels into shapes with vtracer, so the SVG stays sharp at any size and you can edit its paths in a vector editor.
Which PNGs trace well?
Logos, icons, line art, drawings and text, ideally with flat colours and crisp edges. Photos are a poor fit, because they turn into large, posterised SVGs.
Should I choose colour or black and white?
Colour traces each colour area of the PNG as its own shape. Black and white traces a single-colour version, which suits line art, signatures and lettering. Both are in Options.
What does the detail setting change?
Choose low, medium or high detail in Options. High follows the PNG’s edges more closely and keeps small parts; low gives fewer, simpler shapes.
How large can the PNG be?
PNGs up to 20 MB convert in your browser. A PNG longer than 2,000 px on its long side is traced at 2,000 px, and the SVG itself still scales to any size.
