Options

SVG drawings scale to any size, but many apps, slide tools, social networks and upload forms only accept pixel images. A PNG keeps the transparency, with every edge sharp at the size you pick. FormatJet renders the SVG in your browser, so your artwork stays on your device.

About the formats

SVGSVG vector image

SVG is a vector format made of shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. It’s used for logos, icons and illustrations on the web.

PNGPNG image

PNG is a lossless image format with transparency. It’s ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges, but photos come out larger than JPG.

Converted with Browser SVG renderer, jSquash, Image engine.

Questions

What size will the PNG be?

With Width left at “Original size”, the PNG matches the drawing’s own width and height, or its viewBox if those are missing. Pick a larger width in Options for more pixels; the height follows the drawing’s shape.

Will a bigger PNG look blurry?

No. The SVG is drawn at the width you choose rather than drawn small and stretched, so lines and lettering keep crisp edges at every size.

Does the PNG keep the SVG’s transparency?

Yes. Areas with nothing drawn on them stay see-through in the PNG, so a logo sits cleanly on any coloured background.

Why does the text in my PNG use a different font?

Text is drawn with the fonts installed on your device. If the SVG names a font you don’t have, another one takes its place; turning the text into outlines in your design tool before exporting avoids that.

Is the SVG sent anywhere to be rendered?

No. Your browser draws the SVG onto a canvas in the page, so the file stays on your device. Images and fonts it links to on the web aren’t fetched, and scripts inside it never run.
