iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC, which many forms, websites and PCs won’t accept. A PDF turns photographed receipts, documents or a set of pictures into one file that’s easy to open, send and print. FormatJet builds it in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.

About the formats

HEICHEIC image

HEIC (HEIF) is the photo format iPhones and iPads use. It keeps high quality at about half the size of JPG, but many Windows apps and websites can’t open it.

PDFPDF document

PDF is the standard format for documents that should look the same everywhere. It can hold text, images and vector graphics across many pages.

Questions

How do I put several iPhone photos into one PDF?

Add up to 20 HEIC photos and put them in order with the move-up and move-down buttons. You get one PDF with a photo on each page, in that order.

Will sideways photos come out the right way up?

Yes. iPhones save a rotation setting with each photo, and FormatJet applies it, so every page in the PDF shows the photo upright.

Does the PDF lower the quality of my photos?

Each HEIC photo is converted to a high-quality JPEG before it goes on its page. Pages fit their photos by default; choose A4 or Letter in Options if you plan to print.

Does the PDF show where my photos were taken?

Location data is removed by default. The “Remove location data from photos” box is ticked when the page opens.

What happens to Live Photos?

Only the still photo goes into the PDF. The moving part of a Live Photo isn’t included.
