BMP to PDF
Turn BMP images into a PDF you can share or print. Nothing is uploaded.
Drop BMP files here
Converted on your device. Files are never uploaded.
Up to 20 files at a time.
BMP is an older Windows image format, still produced by Paint, some scanners and older software, and many sites and forms won’t take it. A PDF wraps your BMP images into one file that’s easy to email, print or upload. FormatJet does the conversion in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
About the formats
BMPBitmap image
BMP is an uncompressed Windows bitmap format. Almost anything can read it, but files are far larger than PNG or JPG.
PDFPDF document
PDF is the standard format for documents that should look the same everywhere. It can hold text, images and vector graphics across many pages.
Converted with Browser image decoder, jSquash, pdf-lib, Image engine.
Questions
How is a BMP image stored in the PDF?
Your browser decodes the BMP, then FormatJet converts it before placing it on a page. Photos go in as high-quality JPEG, and images with transparency as PNG.
Can I combine several BMP files into one PDF?
Yes. Add up to 20 BMP files, such as scanned pages or drawings from Paint, and use the move-up and move-down buttons to set the order. They come out as one PDF, one image per page.
Do I need to install anything to convert BMP to PDF?
No. Your browser opens BMP files itself, and FormatJet builds the PDF on the page. It works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, free and without signing up.
Can I fit BMP images onto A4 pages?
Yes. Pick A4 or Letter in Options and set a margin between 0 and 50 mm; wide images are placed on landscape pages. If you leave it, each page matches its image.
Do my BMP files get uploaded?
No. The BMP is opened and turned into a PDF on your device, so your images never reach our servers. The counter under the file list confirms it with 0 bytes uploaded.
